
Maritime NZ 'Salvage'
A shipwreck is a haunting reminder of the ocean’s unforgiving nature, so when it came to promoting VHF radio, we chose to tell a real-life rescue story—not just by showing wrecks, but by crafting the entire ad from them.
Using hundreds of photos of salvaged boats from across the country, we pieced together the story of three men caught in a sudden storm. Fiberglass shards transformed into diving gannets, torn hulls became crashing waves, and scraps of canvas, rope, and ripped seating were arranged into striking seascapes. Even the characters were built from wreckage, reinforcing the stark reality of how powerless we truly are at sea.
