NRMA - ‘PLEH’
This project was right up my alley as a huge fan of stop-motion animation. I was primarily involved in the design and concept stage, focusing on defining the personality of each letterform. Together, they form a quirky team, each with its own distinct character, working through oddball situations but ultimately proving unstoppable as a group.
To keep the animation feeling tactile and authentic, we aimed to maintain a stop-motion aesthetic, incorporating a clay-like texture for a handcrafted, realistic touch.
I was lucky enough to work on the concept and design stage of this one. I initially had some fun with ping pong ball eyes but ultimately we went with a more restrained direction. I do love putting ping pong ball eyes on everything though, so hopefully next time. Here' are some early frames.
