Jojo Rabbit - Main titles
Assembly was approached by Taika Waititi to create the main title sequence for his anti-hate satire, Jojo Rabbit. To capture an authentic period poster aesthetic, all the letterforms were hand-cut and hand-set.
I was fortunate to be involved in this project during the concept and design phase. It’s such a great film with an important message, and I’m grateful to have contributed to it in some way.
These are some early style frames and concept designs for the main title sequence, where I explored the innocence of children and how easily they can be influenced by simple drawings in school notebooks. While this direction wasn't ultimately chosen, it was still a fun and challenging creative process.
